Reply to Wallace My question to the Admin (Wallace) would be I and I think many others would be happy to contribute to the upkeep of the site, and if this was a yearly fee of say $15-$20 this would be reasonable, and I for one would be happy with that, after the short time I have surfed the site an...

Dear Mitchell Mates, I've got several other things to help understand why I'm so convinced of Mitchell development through the early years, mainly 1939 to 1948. This one goes into detail in my book, so trying to keep it short: Lawrence Harvey, Jr 1945 Mitchell 2nd Version.JPG There are many document...

Hello Mitchell73, :text-welcomeconfetti: to our forum! I am so sorry you've had a negative experience just starting off collecting Mitchell reels. Without knowing a lot more about the reel you purchased, I'd have to say it's not in your best interest to restore a Mitchell 300 rather common reel. You...

Hey Bill, I have 12 pages of ads for the Mitchell 300A reel, too many to post here. These are scanned originals from years 1979, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984 and the last one is from 1987. Is there any that you're looking for or would you like all of them? I can email these to you if you want, or post up ...

Hello Simone,
Wow, what a beautiful Mitchell Reel! The rods that go with this M34 are impressive. There are two high end Mitchell collectors who I hope will share their knowledge of this reel. Both are massive collectors of round body reels. I do hope they join in.

Don, There's 2 things you can do. The first is to spread the bail spring making it taller. The other thing you can do if you have one, is to replace the bail spring with a 307 bail spring. I've had this problem in the past and have done both of my suggestions, and they work. Good Luck, Wallace See: ...
