Re: 305 ARCA
Ciao Amico Chris!interesting your reference to those little letters in the corners. Each letter is followed by a period and means a word. I think we can understand this easily by asking someone in Belgium. do you have a 305 with Arca sticker in your incredible Chris collection? Personally I had some...

Re: PAGE34 e PAGE ROD
Hello, Just a few remarks on this reel. I know someone who has it (not me!). Listed on Ebay a few years ago with rods but no reels by a Swiss seller, the final price was way too high for me The name "page" was used for the first version of the 320 (see photos of a boxed page with warranty...

The time it took to find it leads me to think it is not common. This type of paper adhesive is extremely delicate, impossible to remove and is very easily damaged. The reel is in excellent condition, has never been disassembled and still has the original aged grease in every part. After following hun...

Hi Simone, those 300DL BALZER reels were produced from 1964 - 1974 according to Dennis Roberts Value Guide. Distributed for the German market and approximately 500 produce in the time span. Pretty low production and very rare. Do you have the wooden box and cardboard sleeve it was shipped in?? Exce...

I agree with everything Chris has written.
I am happy these Mitchells go to collectors who appreciate and preserve their history.

Hey guys quick question. In Wallace's pictures of the serviceman bringing home the 2nd version I noticed the metal spare spool case the lid is screwed on. Dear Simone, That is a beautiful reel, almost looks too good to be true... For your information, the Mitchell that came in the brown box was like your reel including the brass transfer gear. Re: Mitchell 4° version
Simone, Very nice find. I consider the pilot/prototype reel a rare reel to obtain. They all came with level-wind gearing, and dark blue metal knobs. Yours has higher serial number than most than range about 5000 less. Regards, Ted Lanham I also think it is a very high number of this version. I thin...

Re: Mitchell 4° version
Congratulations Simone, you have yourself one of the first full bails made, definitely! On the old MRM Site US Mates referred to these as 'pilot reels, I think perhaps 'prototype' is what we in Europe might have called them. Unusually heavy stamping of the serial number there....there's no mistakin...

Dear Simon, First of all, thank you for your messages. Kind regards. It c...

Re: Mitchell 300 logo
I bought a Mitchell 300, serial number B64413. I've seen lots of Mitchells and the logo, Mitchell, on the side always looks fine line etched and filled with white paint. This reel has Mitchell in wider letters and the tail underneath widens at it's tip. It's also filled with white paint. I've photo...

Dear Mitchell Mates, I've got several other things to help understand why I'm so convinced of Mitchell development through the early years, mainly 1939 to 1948. Lately I look at all the reels I own in depth, I try to understand the old Mitchell engraved versions. I think this serial number "B" is the first 4th version produced. The baffle plate with the hole is unusual looking at my "A" and "C" serials. probably a useful featur...

Probably many of you have this version in better condition, I still haven't found a better one at an affordable price. I wonder what year this version was released.
