Mitchell Reel Forum

I just picked up a left handed half bail 300 (301???). The right side cover with the handle has the Mitchell Logo mounted upside down. Is this factory correct or did a previous owner stick a right side cover on, just to complete the reel?

Yes, that is correct for up-side-down Mitchell on side plate. Eventually Mitchell corrected the problem to right-side-up..........

Roger Dat Reel is correct, not sure what year Mitchell Decided to engrave proper way would assume 53 or 54.
I have 2 full bailS same way.
Have used them, since I am ambidextourous was a little weird but, still caught some Channels.
My opinion the 53 thru 56 Reels are the best.
