Mitchell 410 serial numbers and date made

Hey Guys,
Recently, I acquired 2 Mitchell 410's. They are in pretty good condition. One reel has the serial # 86767. According to your research that number indicates the reel was made in 1953. In checking out your other lists it states the Model 410 was made between the years 1966 - 1985. I checked the serial number several times under magnification. The reel foot is clean. I can see no other marks, letters or numbers. I would like a clear indication of the year this reel was made. Thnx

The Mitchell serial numbers are notorious for being incomplete. My opinion is that what you have is a reel that was produced in 1969 and is missing the last two numbers of its SN. JMHO

I agree with Ted since they were 1st released in 1966. Faster retrieve than the 300C. Virtually the same reel except color and retrieval speed. The 1st version had the tungsten line guide and the next version roller line guide. Circa 1968/69.
