303 reel part?

I had been cleaning and lubing my 303 and I did not notice a part that fell off until reassembly. The piece is the shaft bearing pinion cap or Chrome rotor bushing . It is round ring with 2 notches. How is it installed; notches facing the bearing or notches facing away from the bearing? Do the bearing retainer screws fit into the notches?

Thanks, its a nice video but does not show the part of concern (chrome rotor bushing or also known as the shaft bearing pinion cap). Still don't know the proper position to install this piece.

Don,
I don't know where your PM went but I don't seem to have it.

I think you can see the subject piece in the video outboard of the ball bearing but neither the piece or the bearing are removed and the orientation of the piece really cannot be determined.

Notches face the bearings. And Yes, the retaining screws go into the notches. That is why the notches are there.
