486 Drag part

Post by Sea Hunter »

I am reconditioning a Mitchell 486 (new to me). The drag uses a part; the "Ferodo drag plate", PN 81 482 which appears to be NLA. Is there a substitute for this part?

There does appear that there are a few sources for this part. However, I had seen somewhere that these "Fereodo drag plates" never wear out but can crack. Have not found a carbon fiber or other substitute for this piece.

You should be able to buy a loose carbontex drag washer in the correct size
