Post subject:  Mitchell 300

WOW is all I can say, I just got courious and thought I would look up 1 of my fishing reels that I unfortunately own now. I say unfortunately because I have them since my father has passed on. I would rather still see him using them. But I have a Mitchell 300 as far as I can tell by the numbers is a 5th version made around 1957, and a Garcia Mitchell. Two of the best fishing reels I have ever owned. I now understand why my dad said no when I would ask if I could use them, LOL. Thanks Mitchell for making a great product, wish they still made reels of this quality. :sSig_youtheman:

Welcome to the Mitchell Reel Museum.

In a 1952 ad, Mitchell stated,
"The Finest Spinning Reel Ever Made.
No other spinning reel can duplicate this reels performance"

I , for one, believe that was a true statement. :sHa_biggrin:

My Mitchell 300....The "Foot" being the part that sittin on the rod...???
In that is stamped C140978....is it '54 or '73
And then..under the spool is a sticker that says......LARGE...
For best results use
Test...Garcia
Yds....Royal
Date...BONNYL
