Hello guys, i recently came into a pair of reels and two partial rods reel cheap and one of them appears to be an 84 garcia 622. i dont know a whole lot about vintage reels but it looks identical and the name plate is the right shape though the name itself is missing. the big red flag here however is that from what i have read the 622 has a clicker and is what im guessing a trawling reel as it looks like most other trawlers ive owned. however this one spins free like a fly reel and is on a vintage fly rod , or half of one anyways.

im wondering if this is some free spooling fly varient , or maybe a broken 622 mistaken for a flyreel due to its action.
SN:0222485 or more likely O222485

i am also wondering what this reel may be worth despite its cosmetic flaws.

thanks

probably not the ideal way to link them but ive had the worst luck with image hosting sites, can never get them to link properly.

well i found out how to engage the clicker of this style reel and it is working fine.

i guess all thats left is the question of it being a 622 mitchell or not and the value in this condition.
i paid 1 $ for the pair of reels, this one and a early 90s penn peer 309 that is in good working order but needs the clicker replaced. so regardless of what its worth i think i did ok haha.
